Home Visit Physiotherapy
Home visit physiotherapy brings expert, hands-on treatment to your own home — for people who find it difficult to attend the clinic, are recovering from surgery, or need support with mobility, balance or neurological rehabilitation.

Introduction
Not everyone can get to a clinic easily — and you shouldn't have to miss out on expert physiotherapy because of it. Our home visit service brings the same high-quality, hands-on treatment and personalised care to your own home, whether you're recovering from surgery, managing a long-term condition, struggling with mobility, or simply find travelling difficult.
At Complete Recovery Physiotherapy, our experienced physiotherapists travel throughout Marple, Stockport and the surrounding areas, bringing everything needed for a full assessment and treatment session in the comfort and privacy of your home. You receive the same expert care, continuity and attention as you would in clinic — just in a setting that works for you.

Who Physiotherapy Can Help
Home visit physiotherapy is for anyone who would benefit from physiotherapy but finds attending a clinic difficult. We regularly see people recovering from surgery, older adults with reduced mobility, people living with neurological conditions, those managing significant pain or balance problems, and anyone who simply prefers the convenience and comfort of treatment at home.
Family members and carers are welcome to be present during sessions, and we're happy to involve them in your care, exercises and advice where helpful. Everything is tailored to your home environment, your abilities and your goals.

Your Assessment
Your first home visit begins with a thorough assessment in your own home. We take time to understand your condition, your medical history, how your symptoms affect your daily life, and what you'd like to achieve. We then assess your movement, strength, balance and the specific activities that matter to you — all in the environment where you actually need to function.
Assessing you at home is a genuine advantage. We can see exactly how you manage your stairs, your furniture, your bathroom and the layout of your home, and tailor our advice and exercises to the real challenges you face every day. By the end of the first session, you'll have a clear plan and know exactly what to do next.
Your Treatment Plan
Home treatment is fully hands-on and personalised, combining manual therapy with targeted exercises and practical advice that fits your home and your life. We bring the equipment we need and make the most of your own space and furniture.
Assess & Understand
We assess your condition and your home environment, identifying what's holding you back and what would make the biggest difference to your daily life.
Treat & Relieve
Hands-on treatment eases pain, stiffness and tension, while we begin gentle, targeted exercises suited to your ability and your home setup.
Strengthen & Steady
Progressive strengthening and balance work rebuilds the capacity and confidence you need to move safely and independently at home.
Independence & Confidence
We give you a realistic home programme and practical advice so you keep progressing between visits and stay as independent as possible.
Treatment Techniques
Expected Recovery
Recovery at home follows the same principles as clinic treatment — consistency and the right, progressive programme are what drive results. Many people notice meaningful improvements in movement, confidence and independence within a few sessions, while longer-term conditions improve steadily with regular work.
The real advantage of home visits is that everything we do is relevant to your actual environment. Your exercises use your stairs, your chair and your layout, so the improvements carry directly into your daily life. We'll give you a clear plan and realistic expectations, and we're here for as long as you need us.
Everything You Need to Know Before Booking
No GP referral needed. Direct access appointments available — often same-day or within a few days.
What Happens at Your First Appointment
Your first session is a 45-minute comprehensive assessment. We start by listening — understanding your symptoms, your history, and what you want to get back to. We then carry out a thorough hands-on physical examination to identify the root cause of your problem. You'll receive a clear explanation of what's going on, a personalised treatment plan, and hands-on treatment begins in that very first session. You leave knowing exactly what's wrong, what we'll do about it, and how long recovery will take.
What Should I Wear?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the area we're treating. For knee, hip, or leg problems, shorts are ideal. For shoulder, neck, or back issues, a loose top or vest works well. You'll never be asked to undress beyond what's necessary for examination and treatment, and you'll always be treated with dignity and respect in our private treatment room.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
This depends on your condition, how long you've had it, and your goals. Many patients feel significant improvement within 3–6 sessions. Acute injuries often resolve faster, while long-standing or complex conditions may need more. We'll give you a clear treatment timeline at your first appointment — and we only ever recommend sessions you genuinely need. Our goal is to get you independent and pain-free as quickly as possible, not to keep you coming back.
Can I Claim Through Insurance?
Yes. We are recognised by most major health insurance providers including AXA, Vitality, Bupa, WPA, and Healix. We can bill your insurer directly so you don't need to pay upfront — simply bring your insurance authorisation number to your appointment. If you're not sure whether you're covered, call us and we'll help you check before you book.
